UMN Featured Research & Upcoming Research Roadmap

New Media for the development of Indonesia Knowledge Based Society and Knowledge Based Economy is the ultimate goal of the featured research that would be developed by UMN. To accomplish the goal, every program is centered to five strategics.

The prime research of UMN in 2011-2015 is developed with research scheme:

1. UMN Strategic Featured Research (RUS UMN)
2. UMN Competitive Featured Research (RUK UMN)
3. Competence based research, and
4. Study centers competitive research (RIKOMPUS UMN) as an elaboration of UMN Strategic Featured Research which is all based on strategic issues, strategic plans and research themes as written in RIP UMN.

Innovation in Media and Visual Design (IMDES) offers vast exchange possibilities to researchers, practitioners, academics, and design professionals. The Innovation in Media and Visual Design conference discusses the relationship between mass media, people, design, and technology as well as digital media creation from those interactions. The conference interdisciplinary approach draws on design, information, social science, and the humanities,

Offering not only to think, but design what today’s design makes possible, but to invent new things on mass media and society can do using emergent technology. This conference is a sphere for those intellectuals who examine the conceptual design, praxis, and research discourse on the exploration of academic merits for the design field.

In accordance with the mission of UMN in improving the quality of Indonesian human resources, UMN lecturers carry out education, research, and community service. In its implementation, lecturers conduct research within the scope of work of the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat UMN.

02 Student Involvement in Lecturer Research

Students can also participate in this research process. Students who are interested in participating in research and community service can join as members in research conducted by lecturers.
