VISION

Become a leading Bachelor of Visual Communication Design program that creates the creative, innovative, competent, and international-oriented graduates with the focus of developing the new visual media, based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), entrepreneurial spirit and virtuous character.

1. Creative and Innovative
Becoming a superior Bachelor Degree Arts and Design Study Programme that contributes to newest design works. Innovation will be influenced by the creativity of the students, such as in creating concepts, ideas and design methods. Innovation and creativity in the study method will give a dynamic learning process that pushes society-needs-based design works to be created.
2. Competent
Visual Communication Design Study Programme is built by processing input from industry players and community needs. This is intended in order for students to have the competencies needed by graduate users and society.
3. International Standard
One of the ways to reach the international standard is to use English literature from many countries and international journals of design in the learning process. We also submit our lecturers and students’ design graphic works to international festivals/exhibitions.
4. Entrepreneur
To create graduates with entrepreneur spirit, the students are provided with a curriculum that prepares and enables students in enterprising, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit, providing discourse on utilizing networks, seeking venture capital, and so on.
5. Virtuous Character
To shape graduates with virtuous character, Visual Communication Design Study Programme enacts a curriculum that underlines virtuous characteristics in the learning process routinely that links with soft skill.
6. New Visual Media Development
As technology develops and new kinds of media appears, the new chance to develop works that are used with electronic devices is also given. Visually, this development is pushing the curriculum to answer technology development and society's needs.

GRADUATES PROFILE OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN STUDY PROGRAMME

  1.  Forming a Bachelor of Art & Design who has high competence in the field of new visual media with the basis of noble character, the culture of archipelago, entrepreneurial spirit & the adaptation ability.
  2.  Inventing the scientific works in the field of Arts & Design in the form of research, design, proceedings, and scientific journals, both digitally and traditionally that are beneficial to society and industry.
  3.  Contributing the Arts & Design (values) to the community through student activities, program activities, and alumni activities.
VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN STUDY PROGRAMME COMPETENCE

Able to accept and understand religious values, nationality, working ethics, as well as social care through the values of Caring, Credible, Competent, Competitive and Customer Delight in order to work according to their expert field on both national and global scale.

By assigning graphic design global production and entrepreneur spirit, it creates UMN VCD students more representative, prime and interesting through industries’ eyes with their abilities to:
