At Multimedia Nusantara School (MNS), education goes beyond classrooms. It grows with creativity, innovation, and collaboration. MNS committed to nurturing students through character, creativity, and community values, recently collaborated with Visual Communication Design (DKV) students from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) to develop the school’s Green Farm visual identity. This initiative was born out of the school’s vision to introduce students to sustainable living and the importance of nature in education.
Two talented design students, Sherline Widjaja (DKV 2023) and Melvern Sjah (DKV 2022), were entrusted with creating the visual identity for MNS Green Farm. The design process began with understanding the school’s need: a brand identity that not only represents the farm as a space for growing ornamental plants but also reflects MNS’s philosophy of growth, resilience, and opportunities for every child.
The resulting identity carries deep symbolism. The Soil & Sprout element embodies new beginnings, hope, and prosperity. The Green Farm symbol emphasizes the diversity of plants nurtured within the farm. The Scattered Leaves highlight limitless opportunities that can grow anywhere, while the Roots symbolize strength and perseverance in facing challenges. Together, these elements form a strong and meaningful identity that aligns with the purpose of Green Farm.
More than just a logo, the MNS Green Farm visual identity extends into various applications such as signage, packaging, and labels, to digital presence on social media. Each application was designed to communicate consistency, clarity, and warmth, making Green Farm a recognizable part of the MNS ecosystem.
This collaboration not only strengthens the school’s brand but also showcases the ability of UMN students to apply design thinking in real world contexts. It is a celebration of how education, creativity, and community can come together to create impact. Through this project, MNS Green Farm gains an identity that inspires children and families to embrace sustainability, while UMN students gain invaluable experience in designing for meaningful causes.
