Walking through the halls of Multimedia Nusantara School (MNS) now offers a completely different experience. What used to be plain walls have been transformed into colorful illustrations filled with playful characters and cheerful scenes. This project was carried out by a team of DKV students: Sarah Laeticia (2021), Angelina Saputri (2023), Elicia Valerina (2023), Sisilia Phang (2024), Cherisse Christie (2024), Mirabell Stacy (2024), and Dealova Febriani (2024). Together, they created a series of illustrations that represent the value and spirit of MNS.
The design style is playful, colorful, and child-friendly, with whimsical characters and dynamic layouts. The illustrations were placed strategically across high-traffic areas such as hallways, classrooms, staircases, and even elevator doors, so that students encounter cheerful visuals throughout their daily routines. Each artwork tells a story about learning, exploration, creativity, and collaboration. From characters representing children in various activities to elements symbolizing imagination and knowledge, the walls were designed to connect with students and make their school environment more engaging.
The process took several weeks, starting from research, brainstorming, to sketching, and final execution. The team worked closely with MNS to ensure that the visuals reflected the school’s identity. Inspiration was drawn from children’s storybooks, the school’s core values, and the idea of learning as a joyful journey. Through this collaboration, the walls of MNS have become more than just physical structures. They are now living canvases that reflect the vibrancy of the school community.
